We are pleased to announce that Jennifer Hawkins (Trent Scholar in Bioethics, Associate Research Professor of Philosophy, and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Duke University) will present her work-in-progress ”Happiness, Unhappiness and Suffering” at the next PPRG meeting, which will be Tuesday, May 6 May 13 from 7:00pm-8:30pm in Room 213 of Caldwell Hall. Presentation: Robert Newsom “Risk, Gender and Disparity in Nursing Disciplinary Outcomes”

Robert Newsom will present his work-in-progress, “Risk, Gender and Disparity in Nursing Disciplinary Outcomes” at our next meeting on Wednesday, April 23  from 7:00-8:30pm in Room 208 of Caldwell Hall. The talk is a follow-up to our November 2012 meeting on the same topic. Professor Newsom will share some of his recent findings the topic. There are no advance readings for this discussion.

The Philosophical Issues in Psychiatry Research Group will meet again next Wednesday (April 9) from 7:00pm-8:30pm to discuss Lubomira Radoilska’s “Depression, Decisional Capacity, and Personal Autonomy” (Chapter 67 of The Oxford Handbook of Philosophy and Psychiatry).
